VTU COLLEGES' in a move to check multiple employment of Faculty in different colleges have initiated a process to issue Unique Identification Number for the Faculties. Many faculty members have been found to be working and taking pay from 2-3 colleges at the same time. Speculations are doing the round that this is due to the low pay - the faculty members are being given. Some colleges are said to be having more visiting faculty than the regular ones.  The building of the faculty database of VTU has already been initiated.

Wipro placement process for BATCH 2010 is quite similar to the TCS process, only difference is that they come for two profiles, VLSI and IT. Students of all branches are allowed with  criteria of 60% with no running backs. The process is divided into two parts:
  1. Written Round
  2. Interview(Technical+HR) 

The Written Round consists of 3 sections:
  1. Aptitude.
  2. Technical
  3. Language Skills

The aptitude questions are basic questions based on quant. with questions like time and distance, percentages, numbers, ratios, etc. They are basically simple questions and a practice of RS Aggarwal would help immensely. 
The technical section mainly consists of basic C questions,

Bharath S R of BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, has made his institute proud by securing six gold medals for having secured highest marks with first rank in electrical and electronics engineering according to the results announced for VTU's 9th Convocation due to be held on 7th January.

Chinnari Sreenidhi of Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur, won 11 gold medals in Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in civil engineering discipline. and secured highest marks among the students of all the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) affiliated engineering colleges. 

Shomit B K and R Santosh secured six and five golds each by topping in BE (electronics and communication) and BE (mechanical engineering), respectively. 

PES Institute of Technology (PESIT, Bangalore) is not far behind with Ravishankar J securing five golds and the first rank in BE (computer science). Sowmya R N of RNS Institute of Technology (RNSIT, Bangalore) has recieved four golds by securing first rank in Master of Business Administration.

VTU Belgaum is going  to opt for a new flexible syllabus for B.E courses from the academic year 2010-11.

The VC of VTU has said that they have already developed the new flexible vtu syllabus for the B.E courses. The new vtu syllabus will help the engineering students to cope up with the industry demands. 
 
VTU B.E. syllabus are changed every four years. The MTech and MBA vtu syllabus are renewed every two years and the MCA  vtu syllabus every three years.

vtu examination spoil the New Year's Celebration

“By the grace of VTU my new year EVE is spoiled ... yet again.” 

 

 

This is one of the deluge of emotions of various VTU students who have their VTU exams during the Christmas and NEW YEAR holidays. The only way these students can find relief or just a shade of solidarity is through the social networking sites such as Face-book and Twitter where they share their disappointments with other such students.

 

Some has gone as far as “ Engg in vtu is like a typical indian public toilet .People outside r desperate to go in and people inside r dying to finish n come out” Such are the TWEETS and Status updates you can see on these social networks.

 

We at www.vtunews.in would like to extend the solidarity towards students who are taking their VTU exams during this holiday season. 

 

And hopefully we can change this blatant marring of holiday season by requesting to change the vtu timetable next year.
